TV project

One of hubby's pending "home make-over" project is to mount our LCD TV unto the wall. It's currently sitting on a nice TV stand I bought at Sommerlad in Germany and I'm content with it, but hubby seems to want more. He's been seriously thinking about it and he's doing a lot of research. He found the perfect place to mount it (on top of the fireplace shown below). I think otherwise. I like the fireplace the way it is. I think the TV will take away from the fireplace's simplicity. Besides, I'm afraid the heat coming from it can eventually damage the TV. I'm not really sure. I'm no expert.

Anyway, he's been browsing online and stumbled upon a website that specializes in 'plasma lcd wall mount brackets'. They offer high quality products that meet or exceed standards, with fast and low delivery costs. Even stingy me is convinced this could be the right product for us. We'll see.....

just a quick note....

I submitted my application for U.S. citizenship. Now the waiting game begins. Funny though, as soon as I sealed and dropped the envelope at the post office I started questioning myself if I filled out the paperwork completely and accurately. Have I forgotten anything? The documents, are they all in there? whew! whatever. I guess I'll find out...hopefully sooner than later.

Oh by the way, the fee is outrageous...$675!!

bed and breakfast

If you want to go on a vacation and want to save some money, do the smart thing. Instead of spending a lot on hotels, try Bed & Breakfast instead. Bed and breakfasts are generally most cost efficient (I call it "pocket friendly"). They also offer a more homey and relaxing accomodation.

I have a lot of positive experiences with B&B while we were stationed in Germany. So, If you want something different on your next vacation, forego the boring hotels. Kick back, relax and enjoy the comforts b&b has to offer. You won't regret it.

Weight Gain Pain

I don't know what's up with me but I've been having such a hard time losing weight lately(gained 15 lbs to date). I haven't been eating a lot, my portions are smaller and I don't eat a whole lot of junk food. Although I don't exercise, I am on my feet a lot when I'm at work. Could it be because I'm older now and my metabolism has slowed down? Maybe.

It is frustrating, and I admit I've been thinking about taking dietary supplements. One product I'm particularly considering is hydroxycut. I have friends who took them and they were happy with the results. So next time I go to my physician, I'm going to talk to him about it.

Tech matters

For sis-in-law's graduation two years ago, hubby and I decided to give her a dell laptop as a graduation present. She was ecstatic and happily surprised when she received the package that she phoned everyone she knows to brag about how generous we were. Truth is, we admire her. She put herself through College and was self-sufficient early on.

The laptop served her well after graduation, although she admits that the time has come for an upgrade. She's now looking into increasing the Dell Memory to boost her laptop's performance. That'll definitely give her more time with her most beloved "companion". And it's definitely cheaper than getting a new one, right? RIGHT!

Miami Conga

Who can resist the vibrant and enegy charged carribean rythm of Miami, Florida? Where else can one find endless exciting possibilities brought about by the year-round mild to warm climates and unrivaled ocean access? The arts scene, shopping, family attractions, and beaches are just a few of the many reasons why Miami remains on the top tier of popular tourist destinations. It comes to no surprise that Miami tourism continually grows and Miami real estate is unaffected by the nationwide crisis in the housing and mortgage industry.

Something New

I just found out that we'll be getting a new office soon (spring 2008). The contractors have already started the preparatory work. The new site is a stone's throw away from our current one. Good. That means we'll be getting new computers and new office desks. Sweet huh? I guess management figured out it's more cost efficient to build a new one than to renovate. And I couldn't agree more. Although our current office is warm and inviting on the inside, it looks "gloomy" and outdated on the outside. So really, it's about time.

Spending Fool

I've been spending a lot of money buying things for myself. I gained a "few" pounds and a lot of my office clothes from my previous job don't fit anymore. It sucks big time! I'm hell bent on losing weight but I just don't have the energy anymore to excercise when I come home at night.

I feel guilty spending money on myself but there's just a lot of cute stuff in the mall!!!. I can't tell if the extra pounds are merely an excuse to buy more. If this goes on, I probably need a financial reporting software to keep me on track ;-).

Truck-a-zoid

Speaking of trucks and truck accessories (from previous post), hubby is already talking about "the next time we buy a vehicle" he'd like to have a "pick up truck". He's been eye balling Dodge RAM and Ford F-350. I don't know what it is about guys and their "truck". And I'm thinking to myself "with current gas prices, can we really afford it?". Buying the truck is easy, but everything else that comes with it can be a bit pricey in the long run. I know for sure he wants to have add-ons such as a bedliner. Methinks the gas guzzler that they are, we might as well invest in fuel transfer tank. I hate to be stuck someplace because we ran out of gas.

Christmas list

Christmas is just around the corner, and I should be getting busy with my Christmas shopping (like everybody else). I have a long list of loved ones I need to buy gifts for. My immediate family is pretty easy. Alexis loves anything Bratz, High School Musical, Hillary Duff and all those tween stuff. Steven is even easier to please. Transformers, Spider Man, Power Rangers etc. Big Steve, hah! I know his weakness. Aside from big boy toys, truck accessories are also on his wish list.

For everyone else, let me clear my mind first. :-)

Orlando vacation homes

The last time I visited Orlando Florida was in 2000, shortly before we moved to Germany. We were stationed in Ft. Stewart, Georgia then. Our close proximity to Florida allowed us the opportunity to explore the sunshine state anytime we wanted to. Disney, Universal Studios, Sea World...they all made me feel young at heart. Ahhhh, those were good times I'd love to relive with the whole family again.

Only this time I want to try something new. I'm tired of being crammed in a hotel every time we go on a vacation. I need a home away from home, and Orlando vacation home might just be what I'm looking for.

Superbowl

Hubby is a big sports fan. From baseball, to basketball, to football, to just about anything. He's a big Michigan fan (he's from MI). Detroit Pistons, Tigers, Lions, Red Wings and Michigan Wolverines. He had been to different games before, but his ultimate dream is to watch the Superbowl.

I guess all of America feels the same about Superbowl. When we were in Germany, all the soldiers got the day off after a Superbowl game. The time difference made it a bit difficult for the guys to get up in the morning after watching the game, so it makes sense. It's the most watched television event simply because it's fun and exciting.

Someday, I know I MUST do the right thing. I'll get my hands on Superbowl tickets. Hubby will love me forever for that.

whazz up

Week one of training is done and over with. whew! Had "observation day" yesterday at the banking office where I'm going to be working at and things went well. Seems like I'll be working with a lot of good people, so I'm really excited about it. This coming Thursday, we will be doing what we call "celebration of knowledge", basically our final exam. Yeah, I sound so college.

I feel bad for my mom because I really haven't got the opportunity to take her anywhere. I've been putting in full-time hours, I come home pooped out . I'm really looking forward to just doing my part-time hours so I can have more time at home.

Oh by the way, this Sunday is my (18th) birthday, so ya'll are invited! yeeha!

Online casino

Online casinos are online versions of traditional casinos. Online casinos enable gamblers to play and wager on casino games through the Internet. Generally, the odds and payback percentages offered are comparable to land-based casinos. People turn to online casinos for a lot of different reasons. The most obvious of which is casino gaming in the convinience of your own home.

But, as with any other online activities, reliability and trust issues are often questioned. Many online casinos lease or purchase their software from well-known companies like Microgaming, Realtime Gaming, Playtech, and CryptoLogic Inc in an attempt to ensure their reputation is riding along on the software manufacturer's credibility. These software companies either use or claim to use random number generators to ensure that the numbers, cards or dice appear randomly.

For peace of mind, online casino players can rely on Gamblecraft online casino guide. It is dedicated to helping gamblers find the best casinos for online gambling. They offer free software downloads from online casinos and original tutorial software developed by Gamblecraft.com. Stay up to date with the latest internet gambling news and find out whats new in the world of online casinos.

Holla!

Hello lovely bloggeristas out there!!! I hope everyone's having a wonderful weekend! Been busy lately. We had a housewarming/labor day party last Monday. Families and friends came to welcome us back in the US of A and wish us well in our new journey.

I've also started my (2 weeks) training in retail banking at Fifth Third bank, after which I'll be working at the Dorr/Reynolds branch in Ohio. It's a bit weird being in a classroom setting, but oh well, if that's what it takes to get the job done, so be it. I know I've mentioned in the past that I was going to take a break from the work force for a little while, but I guess I'm just not the kind of person to pass up an opportunity.

By the way, GOOD NEWS. I received my first check from reviewme.com. Yebba, they ROCK!!!

love is in the air

Feeling unlucky in the love department? Have you given up hope because no matter what you do, you just can't seem to find Mr. Right? Are you still waiting for your knight in shining armour but feel that life is passing you by? I know it's not easy. It can be depressing at times. You begin to question yourself, and your self esteem hits rock bottom. I'll be the first to say "you don't need a man to make you happy!", but in all reality, I bet all of us yearn to be with someone we can share our lives with.

With the advancement in technology, it's never been easier to find that special person. I was never a fan of online dating. I thought it was impersonal, and you are never sure if the other person is being honest with you. There's a lot of scammers out there who prey on vulnerable women (and men I suppose). I've heard so many horror stories. You hear it over and over again and it still amazes me how some people don't educate themselves first. Is love really that blind??

On the other hand, there are many many success stories as well. In fact, I have friends who've met their spouse through online dating. They're successful because they did their homework. They were cautious, and they turned to Online Dating Tips to protect themselves.

There's a lot of good guys out there. You just need to know where to look.
