Happy weekend

Thank God it's Friday! It's been a long week, and though mine is not over yet (I work half-day tomorrow), there's still something beautiful about the weekend. First, I don't have to wake up as early. I don't need to rush. I can enjoy "me-time" in the morning because I'm pretty sure everyone's going to sleep in. I can drink my coffee in peace. I can surf the net, and visit my FB buddies. Heck, I might even have enough energy to hop on my treadmill before I go to work. It's been collecting dust in the basement and it's about time I make the connection with it again.

Happy Weekend everyone!! I hope yours will be as good as mine!

weekend

It's Sunday morning and I'm enjoying the peace and quiet in my home. Other than little Steven, everyone's still in bed. Alexis' friend stayed the night and I'm pretty sure they were up until the wee hours of the morning. I'm just waiting for them to wake up and we'll all head out for brunch then watch "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" at the movies later on.

I'm glad I did most the housework yesterday so now I have time to relax. Not that I don't like housework, in fact I find it therapeutic. It's the best fat burner, free of charge. Anyway, I wish you all a Happy Sunday!!!!

Spring fever

I'm glad spring is here! It's been a hard and long winter and warmer weather is way overdue! Hate is a strong word, but I'm not afraid to say I hated last winter because of the severe joint pain I experienced. Part of getting old I suppose.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to barbecues and get-togethers with family and friends. Almost all the kids' birthdays are in the spring/summer time frame. The kids will be able to go out more and enjoy outdoor activities. I'll be able to walk around the neighborhood again, something that I really didn't do when it was freezing cold outside. This is exciting indeed!

TV junkie

Watching reruns of George Lopez is one of our nightly rituals before going to bed. I find it very relaxing to watch. George is a good comedian. Sure, he has a really big head in proportion to his body and he could use the help of a dermatologist for acne scar removal, but he's very funny and his timing is always perfect. Oh, and I love Benny too (his sitcom mother). They are a dysfunctional family, and yet they're able to inject a little bit of humor in their daily lives. I can watch the same show over and over and I still laugh at the same jokes.

Diet

It's spring time!!! It's been gorgeous the past few days and it was a welcome change! Really amazing to see the difference in people's attitudes when the sun is out. Everyone seems to be happy and in a cheerful mood. Kids are bursting with energy, finally being able to get out of the house after a long winter. I also can't help but notice a lot of people, young and old, signing up for gym membership. And why not, bikini season is just around the corner. Unfortunately for me, I'm not a gym person. Never have, never will. I wonder if ephedra diet pill will work for me??

Diet Supplements

I've been thinking about using diet supplements to curb my appetite and finally lose the extra pounds but I'm not sure if it's going to be worthwhile. I've heard of "horror" stories about people who've used supplements to lose weight, and then end up gaining more once they stopped taking them. And most of the ones I've seen so far have not been approved by the FDA so I'm really not sure how safe they are. I also don't believe the exaggerated weight loss claims accompanied by before and after pics. Yeah, I'm a cynic I know.

retirement plans

One of my husband's dream is to own a boat when he retires. He loves the idea of fishing the lakes of North America in the summer months. And because he's in the military with 15 years in service already, he only needs 5 more and he can retire. He'll be 39 and will have plenty of time to fish. Unless he unretires himself and pursue another Federal job, or stay a little longer in the military.

In the meantime, I can busy myself checking out www.goodsamfinancecenter.com for rates. That way, we'll have a general idea of what we would be looking into when the time comes.
