Sirius-ly

He did it again!  Our puppy Sirius is in trouble again.  He chewed up Mom's expensive reading glasses and he's showing no remorse!  He's never been a chewer, but he's always fascinated with glasses.  He loves the expensive ones too!  His first victim was husband's Oakley, then moved on to my Guess, and now, mom's reading glasses! I can't say I blame him completely because it's partly our fault for leaving them where he can reach them (and trust me, his other talent is getting up the table).

So mom and I went to the optical shop to replace this one important necessity of hers and we ended up buying not one but two pairs.  They have so many beautiful designs that it was hard to pin it on just one.   Even the kids eyeglasses are looking awesome.   Glad my kids don't need them, but if they did,  I'm sure to find the most chic style.

Frankenmuth

My mom,  who's visiting from Germany, asked me the other day to take her to the big Christmas store in Frankenmuth.  Reluctantly,  I obliged.  It's a 2 hour drive and I really didn't want to spend my weekend browsing through a Christmas specialty store.   Turned out to be a wonderful experience though.  When the sales associate asked us if there's anything in particular we're looking for, mom quickly replied, "I'm  here for lemax!".  I didn't quite understand what she meant but when we were lead to it, I couldn't stop looking. :-)

Ms World

Congratulations to Megan Young for bringing home the Crown at the recently concluded Ms World beauty pageant....Mabuhay!!!

I've visited websites selling books and let me tell you about my discovery.  They're awesome!!  It's a treasure trove of different books I never even heard of.   My daughter, the avid reader, is so fascinated with the selection and can browse for hours.   She had spent the chunk of her allowance on books.  Last week, my son and I were at the bookstore,  a very popular chain and we came home empty handed.  He was disappointed to say the least.   I did the only thing I know how I'm situations like this.   I quickly pulled my cell and found the book he's looking for online.   Mommy saved the day.

Early Bird

I wonder how my brother will feel if I gave his youngest son electronic drums for Christmas?  I'm sure he'll hate me because another noise maker in the house could just as well drive him insane.  But, I think it's a great idea.  His youngest is musically gifted just like he is.  I've seen him play with a toy drum set and I was quite impressed!

I'm getting Christmas presents this early because I don't want a repeat of last year.  I waited the last minute and not only was it very stressful, it turned out to be more expensive as well.  I'm not good at bargain shopping so I basically just got whatever I could get because I was in a hurry.  Never again!

Chocolates

Can't resist.  Mom brought German chocolates from Germany and I can't stop eating them.  I hid them from the kids so I can eat them at night. ;-).  I hope I don't gain weight.  Mission Impossible for sure.

Scare Tactic

I have a neighbor who refuses to use pest control chemicals for her garden. She does not think it's healthy.  She uses alternative pest controls, and she promised to show me how to make them just by using some stuff I already have at home.  I am more interested in getting rid of the rabbits who roam my backyard as if it's their own territory.  My dog tries to scare them away, but his constant barking is annoying the neighbors.  Not good when you want to keep peace and harmony in your neighborhood.

Sunday

sigh.  It's Sunday.  Which means the dreaded Monday is upon us.  Not looking forward to it.  I am tired.  Just picked up mom from the airport and I want to spend time with her.  But, adult life sucks.  Have to go to work.  darn.

Gimme a Break!

I started my fall cleaning this morning and boy oh boy!  I don't know where to start. I spent a lot of trying just trying to figure out where to put all the stuff.  Steven's room is packed with toys and I don't know how else to deal with them.  I've decided to buy  36" drawer slides at ovisonline.  I need heavy duty drawers to stash all his toys away.  I plan on separating the toys by age.  I will give most of it away to Goodwill or Easter Seals.  He's 10 now and is more interested in electronic games anyway.

I need a break!

Ticket

Picked up mom from the airport today.  On our way home, I decided to stop at Luna Pier to get some yummy macarons.  I wasn't paying attention to the road signs and next thing I know, there's a patrol car behind me.  He gave me a ticket that I must pay within 10 days.  I heard it costs about $125.  Ouch!

Goffer

I know I'll find behringer rx1602 at musician's friend.  My friend asked for my help the other day because he needed it for his next gig.  He did not have a lot of time so I volunteered to browse online for him. Musician's friend does not disappoint.  This is not the first time I've turned to them for our instrument needs.
I've never had an issue with them before.  For that, I am thankful.  It's not easy finding stuff when you need them.  I'm glad I have always have a place to turn to.

Careful!

Alexis passed her driver's test!!!  Stay out of the roads now, my friends :-).  We are going to the DMV today to get her driver's license.  She's too excited.
