Hammer Time

An old friend who is also an FB buddy recently posted on her status that while in an Apple store waiting to get a new phone and iphone accessories, MC Hammer walked in! How cool is that? I'm not a big fan of him, but who can forget "Can't touch this" and those freaky looking pants he wore back in the days? I forgot what it's called, but it became a huge fad. Oh,and let's not forget about the haircut too. It's funny reminiscing about the old days. Funnier whenever I see my daughter's reactions to the kinds of clothes we wore back then lol. hmmmm, I wonder if MC Hammer got a discount?

not again!?

For the first time in years, I played mah-jong without a pause (except for potty and food break) starting yesterday afternoon until 3 pm today. I was at a friend's house and I played against a few of my mom's friends in Ohio. I was tired! I'm not used to staying up at all hours of the night, I was already seeing stars by morning time! It sounds crazy, but I had fun. I lost a few dollars, not enough to buy Branson tickets. Who am I kidding? I shouldn't be thinking about another vacation! I'm still recovering from the week of vacation we spent in Florida!

Wedding in Germany

My brother and his wife are busy preparing for their wedding and their kids' baptism this summer. No, it's not something grandiose, they already had a civil wedding at the courthouse years back but they thought it's a good idea to renew their vows this year. It's going to be an intimate affair involving close family and friends. They didn't even send out wedding invitations nor are they giving out wedding favors to the guests.

Meanwhile, two of their five kids haven't been baptized yet so it's nice that they are doing it as well. It's about time. Too bad we won't be able to make it to Germany this year. I don't have enough vacation leave left.

when oh when can i lose weight

It's summer time and my hopes of losing weight slowly dwindled as I realize that I have neither the energy nor discipline to do the tedious task of burning the calories. I even went as far as buying hydroxycut, which was a total waste of money. When I bought it, I didn't realize that one of the main ingredients was caffeine. I cut back on my coffee intake a few months back and I don't plan on changing that. I now have an unopened bottle of hydroxycut in my bathroom.

Anyway, I have learned to accept myself the way that I am. I still want to get a toner, leaner body and I know I will achieve that someday. Yeah, someday. Wishful thinking, sigh.

bits and pieces

Mom left yesterday to go back to Germany. It was a really short 6-week vacation. It's so nice to have her here. She spoils us with her cooking. Mom is the best cook! I never have to worry about preparing dinner when I come home from work when she was here. I get to relax and focus on other things. I only have one complain though. I gained another 5 pounds!! I wish I could have focused more on exercise. My clothes don't fit right anymore. It's time for quick weight loss diets. On the other hand, I just changed my mind. We are going to Florida on vacation and there is no way I'm going to deprive myself when on vacation. I'll do the dieting later...

bball

In the Philippines, basketball is popular. It is not just sports, but also a hobby for most Filipino men. I remember watching a lot of street games when I was growing up. There's basketball league every summer, and they're always fun to watch. Some players even bring their personalized basketballs to the games for goodluck. They have a lot of fans, mostly teenage girls. My brother played in the league too. He was good, but he got in trouble most the time for fouling the other team. He played rough. And most of his games broke into a fight. Those were the days. Now he has five kids of his own, all boys, his very own basketball team.
